Senior Citizen’s Center

Welcome to the Port Neches Senior Center, a place to make new friends and renew old acquaintances!

HOUR OF OPERATION

The Center’s hours of operation are 9:00a.m. Until 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, excluding City holidays.  The Center is handicap accessible.

ACTIVITIES

  • Bingo on Mondays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Please bring a non-perishable food item to play.

  • Chair exercise on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00 a.m.

  • Line Dancing on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.

  • Numerous seasonal parties, including Mardi Gras, 4th of July, Halloween, and Christmas

  • Old fashioned homemade ice cream, root beer floats, and watermelon are served during the summer

  • Games, such as Wii bowling, Skip Bo, 42, shoot the moon, Mexican train, bean-bag-toss, or shoot a game of pool

  • A small library for your reading pleasure

NUTRITION PROGRAM

The Center operates under Title III of the Texas Administrative Code (Nutrition Program) and is not based on income level. A well-balanced meal is served at the Center at 12:00 noon on Monday thru Friday, in a restaurant style setting.  Diabetic meals are available. The meals are prepared and delivered by Nutrition & Services for Seniors, an agency located in Beaumont. A donation of $2.00 per meal is encouraged for seniors who are age 60 and older (or disabled) and $4.00 per meal for those under age 60; however, no one will be turned away. Reservations are required one day in advance, so please place your order no later than 11:00 a.m. the day before. Once a month, a special meal is served and a reservation for the special meal is needed two weeks in advance.

PROGRAMS

  • Alzheimer’s Caregivers is a support group that meets at 11:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month

  • iPad classes are offered every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

  • Home Health information is available at the Center
