Water Conservation

Are you looking for some tips on ways to conserve water?  Check out these information pages!

The most common cause of leaks are dripping faucets, leaking pipe joints, and leaking toilets.  Slow drips can add a substantial amount to your water bill in a short period of time.  To check to see if you have a leak:

  • Turn off all indoor and outdoor faucets and water using appliances.
  • Go to the meter and observe it for 5 to 10 minutes.  If the meter (dials or gauge) continues to move, a leak is likely.
Stop by the Utility Billing desk at City Hall  to obtain a brochure with tips on how to detect a leaking toilet.
