Municipal Court Payments

Payment Options

For information regarding the balance on your citation, please call 409-722-1438.

  • Payments can be accepted in person at the Port Neches Municipal Court or by credit/debit card payment through the City’s website. ci.port-neches.tx.us.  There is a $1.25 online fee, plus a 3% processing fee added to all Online Municipal Court payments.
  • We currently accept credit/debit cards, money orders, cash, and cashier checks.
  • Cashier’s checks or money orders should be made payable to “Port Neches Municipal Court.”
  • Payment can be mailed to the following address but must include a signed and marked plea on the bottom of your citation if it is within the ten (10) business days.

Do NOT pay online if you are interested in requesting the Drivers Safety Course or Deferred Disposition. Contact the court for requirements and additional information at 409-722-1438.
 
 Restrictions for online payments:
  • You are a juvenile defendant. Persons 16 years of age or younger MUST appear in person to court with a parent or legal guardian (Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 45.0215).
  • Minors under the age of 21- tobacco-related violations and alcohol-related violations must appear before the judge in open court before payment of a fine will be accepted.
  • You want to plead not guilty.On a plea of not guilty, the case must be set for trial. You must enter this not guilty plea by appearing in person before the judge at the address on the citation or through your attorney.
 Payment Plans:
  • Payment plans are available and require a $25 down payment. Standard payment plan agreements are set for either $50 monthly payments or $100 monthly payments. If the defendant is already on a payment plan that is not in good standing, then he/she must see the Judge. 
  • A one-time time payment fee of $15.00 ($25.00 for violations occurring before January 1, 2020), is required by Texas Local Government Code and will be added to each charge that has a balance after 30 days from the date of the plea.
 
 Alternative Payment Options
 
Community Service
If you are unable to pay your fines, you may request for community service in lieu of paying the fine. Contact the court to sign up for a court date. 
 
Indigency
In certain situations, in which a person cannot perform community service and that person is financially unable (Indigent) to pay their fine and court cost the Court will hear sworn testimony and look at evidence concerning your financial situation. You may do this by requesting a court date and setting an appearance before the Judge. 
 
Credit for Time Served
You may be entitled to a credit toward any fine or costs owed if you were confined in jail or prison after the commission of the offense. You may request this by submitting a letter to the court along with proof of your incarceration (book in date and release date) from the facility where you were confined.  Contact the Court via email or phone for additional information.
