The City of Port Neches Animal Control Department operates under the supervision of the Port Neches Police Department. Animal Control enforces City Ordinances and State laws within the city limits of Port Neches.
The City of Port Neches and the City of Groves share the Small Animal Shelter that is located at 5001 McKinley and Hwy 366 in Groves.
The City of Port Neches employs one full time Animal Control Officer. While the ACO is out in the field and away from the Shelter, citizens can reach the animal control officer by calling (409) 722-1438 and he will be contacted by radio.
Animal Control patrols the City to eliminate nuisances and threats to public health that may result from animals running at large. Responsibilities of the Animal Control officer are the enforcement of the leash law as well as stray animal impoundment and carcass removal from City streets.
